
OVERVIEW
Single B cell technology is a recently developed method for the rapid production of monoclonal antibodies. Each B cell produces only one specific antibody, containing a unique variable region sequence for both the heavy and light chains.Antigen-specific B cells are isolated from the spleen or peripheral blood of immunized rabbits. The variable regions of the IgG heavy and light chains are amplified from individual B cells using PCR, and the genes are expressed in mammalian cells to obtain functional monoclonal antibodies. This method retains the natural pairing of heavy and light chains, offering high genetic diversity, efficiency, and fully natural antibody sources. It has become a powerful strategy for fast and precise antibody development.
